Essential workers, foreign graduates and several other immigration candidates presently residing in Canada now have the option to reserve the seat for the language proficiency test again.

Those immigrants who are willing to apply for the economic class draw in Canada have to undergo the general test provided either by IELTS or CELPIP.

Either IELTS or CELPIP find that their website stopped working on April 15 when Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino declared that Canada would only enable 90,000 essential workers, international graduates and francophone in Canada for their permanent residence application through the six new limited-time immigration programs. The program was organized on May 6 and turned down on November 5, or when applications’ limits for the program have been reached.

The declaration of these draws put an adequate demand among Canadians looking to book for their language proficiency test as quickly as possible. Canadian is applying for the language proficiency test as quickly as possible to come under the list of 90,000 applicants for the programs.

Canadian language benchmark (CLB) of 4 is usually needed for the order stream, and a CLB 5 is usually required for the new student’s streams.

Some of the test centers for the upcoming weeks are available on both the IELTS and CELPIP websites.  It will be remained restricted if the test provider does not increase the test center to meet the requirements of the applicants looking to appear in the general test leading up to or immediately after the launch of new programs on May 6. Due to the spread of the corona virus, which then leads to both IELTS and CELPIP reducing their test centers because they were concerned about the health and safety of the staff and immigration candidates.

90,000 spots available to essential workers, international graduates, and francophone

The recent draw organizing on May 6 is accessible to the essential temporary foreign workers based in 40 healthcare occupations and 95 other occupations. They are also accessible to the preceding international graduates. Immigrants should be living in Canada or in any territory of Canada excluding Quebec (the programs are not for the immigration residing in Quebec)

The application caps for the draws are given below:

Canada will accept the limitless application from the candidates who speak French.

The new programs aim to support Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to meet their goals of inviting 401,000 new immigrants in 2021. IRCC is focused on switch more immigrants in Canada to apply for permanent residence. The reason behind this approach is corona virus travel restrictions that limit some approved permanent residence in abroad countries to enter Canada. The other way IRCC focuses on executing such transitions is by the major Express Entry draws focusing on Canadian Experience Class candidates.
