The Express entry cut off score has been coming down to 470 for the very first time overall program this year.

Applicants require a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) minimum score to be invited in the ongoing November 25 invitation round. In total 5,000 invitations were sent to the express entry participants through which a maximum of ITA’s, i.e. Invitation to Apply which was issued in a single draw.

Express entry pool is one of Canada’s immigration application systems for the given three federal economic class programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Applicants under this program and in the Provincial nominee program (PNPs) has been rewarded the score on behalf of the CRS. The score is assigned based on the Applicant’s human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, and good command in English or French languages.

Candidates scoring the maximum marks will get eligible to receive the invitation to Apply (ITA) for the Canadian permanent residence via Express Entry invitation round.

With the new draw, the overall number of ITAs that were issued in the year 2020 has reached 97,350. This year is now getting into the new record-breaking year for the express entry, as the number of ITAs issued to date is considered one of the highest ever. In the latest express entry draw, it has been noticed the record-breaking 5,000 ITAs, and these figures help the number of invitation to break last year’s target.

The Canadian government is planning to welcome a maximum number of ITAs for over 400,000 new immigrants in the upcoming year 2021; the majority of them are arriving through the express entry system.

If there can be a situation that there is a tie between the applicants, then the IRCC goes for the tie-breaking rule. Under this rule, Applicants with a CRS score of more than 469 are required to submit their express entry profile within October 15, 2020, at 08:50:10 UTC with regard to receive an application.

In the current year, the requirement of CRS has frequently gone above the 470 for all the draws. The federal skilled trades worker program is the only program launched on August 6 which invited the trades worker with the CRS score of 415, and the recent Canadian experience class is the only draw that is invited within the 440s. PNP is the only program that demands the higher requirements in which Express entry applicants who get the provincial nomination are usually awarded an extra 600 CRS points. PNPs also offers several other pathways to permanent residence for the express entry candidates who generally have a much lower CRS score.
